Review by Dragonlord for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game (Wii)

The graphics for Avatar are very good and caputure the look of James Cameron’s most wonderful film. Avatar has a great co-op mode where two players can simultaneously play the game at any time, even if you have already started in single player which is ace. The Wii MotionPlus controls for the Hellfire Wasp are brilliant. If you have a Wii Balance board then you can use it to ride on the back of a mighty flying Banshee creature which is very majestic. Rai’uk has two main weapons one is a Staff in which you use your Wii Remote and if you are sneaky you can perform cool stealth attacks from behind or from jumping out of a tree landing on top of your enemy. The other weapon is a deadly bow which is great for hunting down your prey. You use your Nunchuk for guiding your hero around the levels using the stick which works very well. The story is set two years before the film if you haven’t seen the film it won’t ruin it for you. Overall this is one of the best Wii games based on a Hollywood blockbuster which is a must have game for fans of the movie.

OK, so other reviewers have already mentioned that the full gameplay on the wii is not as comprehensive as on other platforms, but Oh what joy to really be able to wave your staff around and whack people on the back of the head! And you’ll never have as much fun as you do when flying your banshee from your balance board.
I love the experience of it. In fact, I deliberately take ages to finish the flying levels just so that I can keep flying!!

the game is great on wii its the best but if you wont to be the humans you should buy the xbox or psp game.in this game you play as a solder(in the prequel)and as Jake in the story, its a free roming game and you are given objectives. BUT if you wont a fun game where you only have a staff and a bow then get the wii game.

First off you would be better learning about the wii version of the game via gamespot. Amazon give you the details of the PC, PS3 and 360 version of the game. You don’t choose sides, you play the whole game as a Na’vi warrior whose name isn’t really used. And with that said you don’t get all the weapons it says you can use for the other platforms-you get a staff and a bow.
The gameplay itself is pretty good. You run through the Pandoran jungle or an RDA outpost which are pretty detailed. Combat is you can choose to sneak up on your enemy from above, behind or below if there is deep enough water. Or shoot them-not quite as effective as there might not be appropriate cover within range and the enemy can easily find you. The final option is to charge in and smash everything with your staff-satisfying but the likely outcome is you get shot to pieces. I don’t have a motionplus or an extra nunchuk so I can’t tell you what co-op is like, or the controls for the hellfire wasp. Banshee flying is good but difficult to master properly-and it is always fun giving an RDA gunship a battering.
The final point is that this game doesn’t follow the story of the film (which I highly recommend) Oh, and some of the controls can frustrating and it is sometimes difficult to see the on screen prompts sometimes.
Overall a good game but I still want the PC version.

I loved the movie. I have a wii, so I looked the game up on Amazon, and on the basis of the pictures and video and description, I bought it. I played the game, and did some research. All the pictures, video, and description is for the game on the PS3! Avatar on PS3 is a totally different game from avatar on wii, story mode and all! On wii, you CANNOT play for the RDA, have more than 2 weapons, play online, and dont be expecting anything like the graphics you get fom a PS3 (eg what you see in the pictures and video)!
It IS an ok game, I’m just very angry that the descriptions were all a lie.
