I’ve had this for little over a week now and it is soooooo much better than having keep taking the motion plus and skin off every time I want to charge the remotes.
The battery packs do get a bit warm when they are being charged but not to any worrying level and it’s not the reason for the missing star.
No that’s down to Amazon and a misleading description and image
(
The image shows (at least it did when I bought it) a standard AC plug, and the main description stated:
” – Powered via AC adapter ” and
” – Powered by any standard wall outlet – no USB port required ”
What you actually get is a pass-through power connector which plugs into the back of the Wii. It does say that this is what you get in the manufacturers description, so always a good idea to read both and query with Amazon if you don’t beleive the image.
What this means is that the AirCharge needs to be placed within the cables length of the Wii and the passthrough connector will add an extra 2 inches to what’s sticking out the back of the Wii. You could, I suppose use your own AC adapter configured to the right voltage, but that means additional cost etc.
I should mention that unlike USB powered chargers the AirCharge doesn’t need the Wii turned on to charge.
So, other than that minor image hickup the product is great and I’ve already recommended it to family and friends.

This gadget is really good.
One problem with the Wii is the constant need for batteries for the remotes. Thats a waste, and is expensive – so when I got my Wii, I invested in rechargable batteries, and a charger.
Unfortunately, Nintendo then shifted the goal posts, by bringing out the motion plus accessory, and silicon covers for the remotes. This means you have to remove the add-ons before being able to slip the remotes into the charger. Thats painful, and so my 10 year old son doesn’t bother with the silicon covers any more for that reason.
NOT ANY MORE!!! Using induction technology, this unit charges 2 remotes wirelessly, and comes with the special batteries required for both. God send! And best of all, the power for the charger attaches to the Wii’s power cord on the back of the Wii itself, so you dont need another power supply. Plug it in and forget it!
Everything is well designed, and appears well thought out. looks great. I’ve only had mine for a week, but already I love it.

Excellent charger. Works a treat, even though I suspect it works via witchcraft. As others have said, the positive of not having to remove the covers is not to be sniffed at. Worth the extra cost for a well-designed charging solution.

This is brilliant. Our Wii control batteries were always running out but now we can just pop these on top of the tray in their covers and soon have them recharged.
